Adahleigh had her birthday a week ago, since no one was able to come Sat. for a party we moved her party to Sun. We figured that we should at least do something special for her actual birthday though. Charles and her started the day out by playing together. She drug him around in a laundry basket for at least a half and hour. They were both laughing and having a good time together (which really isn't all that unusual).
He didn't even mind sharing the basket with her once she got tired of moving him around.
First thing we did for her is try our hand at face painting. She wanted nothing to do with it at first (she didn't like the feel of the paint or brush on her face). Once we gave her a mirror so she could watch she no longer had a problem with it. She made sure she gave her cheesiest grin possible for the picture.
In the evening we took her to McDonald's for dinner. It was her first time there were we've really sat down, ate and let her play on the toys (we usually just go through the drive through when we do go to fast food places). Ash made the mistake of getting a table in the play area before we had our order, so all Adahleigh wanted to do was play and not eat. We had a hard time to get her to eat anything because of all the fun to be had, she didn't even want to sit still to eat ice cream.
Once we decided that trying to get her to eat was futile, we helped her play on the toys. She wasn't too sure about the large play toy even though there was a lot of kids on it. I convinced her to crawl through it and she was doing really well until she came across a mentally disabled kid playing. He was in a little section playing by himself and once she got by him he started yelling at her to get down, the sad thing was she was kinda stuck on a ledge and couldn't go anywhere quick enough for either one of them, so she started crying. Once she was crying he freaked out even more and plugged his ears and started yelling more, so I had to crawl through most of the jungle gym to get to her (needless to say McDonald's doesn't have a 6'4" guy in mind when they make these things).
She did love the basketball game. She wasn't able to make it over the guard, let alone come anywhere close to the rim.
She does have pretty good form though, and will probably end up with a mean jump shot (especially with all the jumping that she's constantly doing, she gets pretty good air).
To help things out I let her stand on the game, but she still wasn't able to get the ball in. To her this really didn't really matter all that much to her.
