Weekend in Waldport #1

The past weekend we headed out to waldport to see the ocean. We had rented a beach house right on the beach. We left friday morning to let adahleigh get as much playing time on the beach as possible. Adams family was coming out later that night after everyone got off work.

This is what we did all afternoon......

This was the only thing she wanted to do! The water really was not that warm! The waves were a little to strong for her so they would knock her over! I wasnt quite fast enough to catch her!
Charlie enjoying the beach as well he wasn't to sure about the sand under his feet and he hated the cold water!

We finally convinced adahleigh to come play with her sand toys we had boughten her and try to warm up a bit from playing in the water!

The Whole Family on the Beach!

It was getting to be later in the evening and time to head back to the beach house this was adahleighs response to having to leave.....needless to say we had to drag her off the beach!

Day #2

We woke up extra early to go down to the beach during low tied to look for seashells. When we got to the beach this is what we found just hanging out! Adahleigh wanted to touch it but we would not let her get close enough to do it.

Adam and albert decided they were going to go surfing later that day. Needless to say they both struggled to get up so we gave the little kids a chance to try it.

Adahleigh didn't like it from the start! But she did pretty good with daddys help!

Azure looked like a pro until her uncle adam let her get to much in the water then she decided she was done to.
Kenya and adahleigh playing in the sand. There uncle bryon was digging holes then letting them stand in them while he cover there feet to see if they could get out!
It seemed like the water was colder that day but it didn't seem to faze any of the little kids they still all decided they needed to play in the ocean for half the morning!

A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village

We ended up taking the kids and Albert to the discovery village to enjoy the activities and playground there. Unfortunately, we waited until about an hour or so before it closed so ended up cutting some of the activities she enjoyed doing so she could see everything they had there.

She really enjoyed the bubble room even though she hasn't learned how to blow bubbles yet, she just waves the wand around in hopes that she would make bubbles. She did enjoy watching the other kids blowing bubble and even helped them pop them.
Charles and mom even got in on the action and tried to encase themselves inside a big bubble.

This is one of the activities should could've done for hours, putting chocolate chips in the cookies were they belong.
Charles has been spending more time in the moby since we have without a stroller. He seems to enjoy it more since it gives him a little more freedom to interact and gets him right in the middle of the action.
She was right at home behind the helm sailing the house away.
As you can see she is an expert in writing chinese, but once the water dries the proof is gone.
I don't know who had the most fun there, it was really close between Albert and Adahleigh.
However, Adahleigh was the one risking other small children's lives by jumping from fast moving swings!!!
After we were done at the Discovery Village we took a stroll across the Willamette River. In the past few years they converted an old railroad bridge into a pedestrian bridge across the river. Adahleigh had fun running its length. Albert swore that if you stood still you could feel people walk by, but we're pretty sure he's just crazy.

Hangin' with Cousins

Miles & Erin came down to Turner the first weekend we were here, so Adahleigh and Charles were able to play with their cousins (Charles did more watching than playing since there's a pretty big age gap, but he enjoyed it all the same). They both have enjoyed feeding and riding Willy.

Adahleigh, Kenya and Azure all had fun riding Willy with each other, the only problem was that everyone wanted to have the saddle horn to hold onto.

Adahleigh wanted to feed the iguana after seeing Kenya doing, and now goes up to look at it whenever she wants.
They even enjoyed jumping on the tramp with each other. Kenya and Adahleigh kept playing ring around the rosie and Azure would try to join in, usually just to be thrown to the ground.

Oregon Trip

We headed out to Oregon on the 30th to visit with Adam's family. We left at 2 a.m., so we could get most of the road covered while the little ones were sleeping. They ended up traveling really well. They were awake maybe a total of 4 hours, but with a couple stops made along the way they were content to sit and play while in their car seats. Adahleigh has gotten to be pretty funny now that she's talking. When she decides that she's has had too much time in her car seat she tells us that she is stuck, she must think we'll free her when she says this.

On the way we stopped for an hour at the Bonneville fish hatchery to see the rainbow trout and sturgeon that they have there in their viewing ponds. They raise other types of fish to stock river and lakes, but it was the wrong time of year to see any of the other fish. Adahleigh enjoyed pointing out the fish and feeding the trout. Charles even hitched a ride on a trout.

Spring is on the way

This year for Valentine's Day we had stake conference, so we got all the kids dressed up and ready to go. They were actually willing to ...
