At the end of the summer the kids and i were heading back home from playing at the park. The youngest two always ride in the stroller and adahleigh loves to ride her bike. As we were waiting on the corner to cross the street. One of the local sheriffs pulled up and stopped and proceeded to get out of his car. Me being the worrier than i am was wondering what we had done to be stopped by an officer. He was very friendly said hello, and of course he asked if they were all mine?, then started talking with adahleigh. His conversation with her consisted of the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a bike. Adahleigh being the talkative one she is was answering all of his questions. When they were done he pulled out a stack of papers, it was a bicycle safety award certificate, which she got for being safe and wearing her helmet. The certificate was good for a free hamburger happy meal at McDonalds. He also gave one to charles and keisha so they would not feel left out. We had to hang her certificate up because she was very proud of it.
We waited around until we knew McDonalds had something they would actually use. We ended up taking the kids the week before halloween.
A lady also gave us some coupons she was not going to use so our dinner that night for all five of us was less that 5 dollars.
