The Follower is now the Leader

Charles definitely didn't fall too far from the tree. The kid is a monkey at heart. We thought that Adahleigh was a pretty good climber, but she didn't really start climbing until she was really good at walking. Charles on the other hand has preferred to hone his climbing skill first and foremost. When we leave him alone for a second these are the things we come back to. Adahleigh can reach the VCR for her movies and likes to push buttons, so Charles had to figure out how he could push buttons too. This is his favorite thing to do, especially to Adahleigh. He'll go up to the TV and change the channel or turn it off while she's watching something.

It's amazing he didn't fall of during his monkey business, but it wouldn't have mattered much if he had since he has a pretty hard head from headbutting the wall and his mom.
Since these pictures he has also tried to get up to the VCR without the aid of the basket, but he has no problem getting whatever he needs to stand on to be able to climb wherever he wants.

He managed to get on this table by climbing onto the couch, then onto it's arm, then he made the leap.

Adahleigh thought it was way cool where he got to that she wanted to stand up there next to him. He also likes to stand on our rocking foot rest in the bottom of the picture and make it rock while he's on it.

Needless to say the kid is lucky he hasn't met his own demise yet due to his risk taking.
