Workshops

   Now that we have finally gotten relatively settled in our new home, and have functioning internet again, well try to get caught up on blogging and post more frequently than has been seen in the last couple months.

   Back in February we started taking the kids to the Lowe's and Home Depot's Kids Workshops.  We initially thought that the kids wouldn't be allowed to do it because of their age, but we later found out that even though they say the projects are made for kids 6-12 yrs. they let anyone do it. Adahleigh and Charles have loved making the handful of projects we have taken them to, and Keisha is content to sit in her race car shopping cart pretending to be on the speedway while they build.

   The first one they got to go to was to make race cars. They had tons of fun building them and continue to have fun playing with them.

   Since the Lowe's cars didn't really have any paint on them, we help the kids customize their own cars by painting them and altering the stickers that came with them,  so they could tell them apart.

   Following the Lowe's car build Home Depot also had a car build and since the kids had so much we took them to it also. The cars turned out to be not quite as cool since they were self propelled like Lowe's. Thus far we have be able to escape the build without too many smashed fingers, I don't think the kids have smashed their own fingers yet.

   Some of the other projects the kids have build include pinball, fortune teller, flower boxes, bird feeder/house, golf game, plane, and tow trucks.

Keisha had finally gotten big enough to climb in and out of the tub, and one night she decided that just because mom said it was time to get out of the tub and get dressed for bed didn't really mean that bath time was over. Keisha climbed back in the tub fully clothed to play more.

   As you can see the older kids must have looked like they were having way too much fun, so like usual she had to get in on the action. They may have helped her into the tub, since they like to help her out with things that she isn't quite big enough to do on her own.

    While Charles hair was still long he wanted to have some fun doing it up, so we got out the gel and hair dryer and let him got at it.

    He had to be involved in the whole process from wetting and gelling his hair to drying it. The expression on his face makes the picture that much better.

   He sure did get a lot of height in his hair.
