Since we moved to warmer weather (at least that's what we thought we were doing, but we got quite a few cold spells till now) the kids have really enjoyed more time outside than inside. They are really like a bunch of caged monkeys the longer they are inside. They do really well first thing in the morning finding acceptable indoor activities, but as the day wears on they begin to get restless and literally climb the walls (as seen in previous posts with Charles climbing abilities). Being able to take them outside is a great relief and they love every second of it (if it was up to them they'd never be inside). Since moving we have enjoyed lots of fun outside activities; like hiking around in the desert around our apartment buildings, swimming, playing on playground toys, barbecuing, and running around and just being crazy. The kids have enjoyed our porch here since they have more access and are less likely to get hurt, since there isn't a swamp cooler or barbecue on it.
The kids have enjoyed summer treats on the porch occasionally, whether it be otter pops, ice cream cones, or popsicles it's all the same. Here are some pictures of them when we first got here (before the porch was all cleaned off) lounging in their lawn chairs.
They both are really good at not making a complete mess when they do it.
Charles isn't as clean about the whole experience, but he enjoys it all the same.
Of course, there has to be at least one really goofy picture in the series.
